Not A Box

Genre: Contemporary
Audience: Gr. K-4
Overview: This book is about the power of imagination within children, and how to make the most out of the simple pleasures in life, such as an empty cardboard box.

Activity:
I would have the students think of a time they used their imaginations and write a paragraph/a few sentences describing it. I would also have them draw what someone who didn’t know what they were pretended to be would see, and then draw what they were imagining. (Follows the illustration technique in the book.)
