Title: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Author: J. K. Rowling
Publisher: Scholastic press
Publication Date: 1999
Genre: Fiction
Audience: Gr. 6 – 8

Overview: Harry Potter and the Chambers of Secrets, is the second book of an amazing adventurous novel sequel. It talks about the continuous adventures of a young wizard and his friends. It is a fun book to read at all ages, from 6 grades and up. This is an excellent book, because it is constantly engaging the readers in every page.

Activity: Have students write a daily journal of what they think of each chapter, what caught their attention and words they did not understand. Afterwards make them have group discussions of every chapter, involving a variety of activities, like, role playing, creating a poster, creating a comic strip, writing a song, writing a poem, or drawing the different characters, or drawing their own book cover. The activities should vary from class to class in order to keep students interested and don’t get them involved in a routine. Change the groups, and use the differentiation method to run the class.
