Overview: With vivid pictures and heartfelt words, The Hello, Goodbye Window captures the hearts and eyes of readers. A young girl describes what its like to visit her Nana and Poppy. She explains that her favorite window in the house is the kitchen window, which she calls the “Hello, Goodbye Window” because that’s where she says hello and goodbye to her grandparents. The pictures are imaginative and students can relate to the artwork and story.

Activities: Have students draw a picture of their house and write a few sentences about their favorite part. Then, let the students share their pictures and explain why that is their favorite part of their house.
