Overview: An imaginative story about a king and queen who finally get their wish of having a child, a daughter named Rosamond. However, at the feast to celebrate the birth of the beautiful daughter, an evil wise woman bestowed a terrible fate upon the girl. When the girl is fifteen she is to die from a prick on her finger with a spindle. The parents, deeply upset by this, do everything they can to protect their beautiful daughter, but it may not be enough.

Activity: After reading the story, watch the Disney movie “Sleeping Beauty”. Is there anything that’s different between the movie and the story? Which one is better? Have the children compare the movie to the book and tell which one they liked better and why.
