Author: Doreen Cronin

Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication Date: 2000
Awards: Caldecott Honor Book, Children’s Literature Choice List, IRA/CBC Children’s Choices, Irma S. Black Award Honor Book (Bank Street)
Genre: Fiction Picture Book
Audience:  Gr. Pre-K-2nd grade
Overview: Farmer Browns’ cows learn to type and begin to leave him notes.  They demand electric blankets and will go on strike if their demand is not met. The dialog between the farmer and the animals is quite humorous. The illustrations are eye catching in a watercolor medium.  Children will love the repetitive, “Click Clack Moo” throughout the story.
Activity:  Children can participate in the reading by reciting Click, Clack, Moo whenever the farmer hears the noise. Children also might enjoy drawing a picture of the item that they would demand if they were the animals in the barn.
