Overview:  When being attacked by an owl, fruit bat Stellaluna finds herself separated from her mother and in a nest of birds.  She is taken care of by this family of birds and quickly picks up birdlike habits.  Stellaluna and her mother finally reunite, but she continues her deep friendship with the birds, exclaiming at the end that they can be friends even if they are so different.
