Overview: A peddler was unable to sell his caps one day, so he took a nap. When he awoke, his caps were missing. The monkeys up in the tree had stolen his caps, and they teased him until he gave up. The man returns to town shouting, "Caps for sale!"

Activity: Patterns/Combinations: Using paper hats matching the colors in the book, allow students to rearrange the hats from the book in their own pattern and show them mathematically how many combinations can be made.
Fractions/Percentage: Students can create fractions based on the colors of the caps. Students create their own product to sell and do the same activities, this way they have ownership to the whole activity.
