Overview: In this book that includes five different short stories, the reader finds out that Frog and Toad really are best friends. They play tricks on each other like when Frog cleverly figures out a plan to get Toad out of bed and take care of each other when one is feeling sick. Frog helps Toad out in a time of need and Toad is more than willing to return the favor. Frog and Toad are the perfect best friends.

Activity:
Have the students write about their best friend(s). What makes a good friend? What makes a bad friend? Ask them to retell a specific situation where one of their friends really helped them out.
