Overview: Dr. Seuss’s last book ever written, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! could quite possibly be his best. It is a must-read for anyone, regardless of age, who is in a transitional period in his or her life. Children will be immediately drawn to this book because of its upbeat rhyming pattern. Oh, the Places You’ll Go! is a book that everyone, child or adult, will enjoy “98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.”

Activity:
After reading this story to the class, show them some of Dr. Seuss’ other books. Explain to them that Dr. Seuss has an illustration style that is very recognizable. Have the students try to draw a picture that incorporates Dr. Seuss’ illustration style.
