Overview: “You don’t get to be an old cricket by being a dumb bug.” This is what Old Cricket tells himself as he mischievously tricks his way out of helping his family and friends. In the end however, it all comes back to get him. This book creatively teaches an important lesson about helping others, and has wonderful up close illustrations that make the story come alive!

Activity: Students could create good deed charts. Have the students write down all the helpful things they did in school as well as at home for their family and friends, and at the end of the week the students can share their charts with their classmates. The teacher can hand out good deed ribbons.
